Tulbaghia belongs to the family of Alliaceae and is named after the former Dutch Governor in the Cape of Good Hope: 'Ryk Tulbach'. The Tulbaghia is closely related to Allium and originates from South Africa. The Tulbaghia blooms all summer and is reasonably winter hardy.
